Why Americans Do Not Stand Up for Their Rights
They don't know what they are. In the recent 2023 Annenberg Constitution Day Civics Survey, most Americans (77%) could only name one right — the freedom of speech -- guaranteed in the First Amendment.
In total, just five percent of U.S. adults could correctly cite all five First Amendment rights.
